Smith said she is also getting less optimistic about the prospect of herd immunity by the day. Famine added later seeing so much loss from COVID, being back in this a year later contributes to building frustration in the medical and public wellness community.
"If you told me a year ago that we would have a vaccine that could have stopped all of this and that we were going to have and so many people all the same not accept information technology, I don't know if I would have believed yous," she said. "A lot of the public health workers and other people are burned out. They were willing to sacrifice their time, their families and work above and beyond the terminal few months to aid us get to this vaccine and moving past information technology. Smith called continued to resistance to masks and vaccines demoralizing.
